Nothing Lasts Cover

Lyrics

Intro They call it a valley, but it’s really a spine, Stone on stone in a patient line. The sea below hums ancient hymns, The wind still carries what the builder begins. Verse 1 We built to outlast the turning breeze, Stacked our faith in Doric degrees. Measured our glory in marble and might, Believing the gods would remember our height. Concordia stands, defying decay, Her columns catch the dying day. Juno bears fire on her skin, A scar that proves endurance wins. Nothing lasts, but everything speaks, The ruin remembers what the builder seeks. Time may fade, but meaning stays, In broken walls and bright displays. Verse 2 Zeus left his temple half-undone, A monument to the setting sun. Atlas fell, then rose once more, Pieced together on this shore. We carve, we code, we write, we sing, Still chasing echoes of everything. Each dream a tower built to symbolize, The truth that fades, yet testifies. Hook 2 Nothing lasts, but everything speaks, The ruin remembers what the builder seeks. Time may fade, but meaning stays, In broken walls and bright displays. Bridge Heracles left eight proud bones, Castor and Pollux guard these stones. The missing parts are where we breathe, In absence, future hearts believe. Verse 3 / Coda I walk through dust, but not alone, Each crack a message, each chip a tone. They built for gods; I film for ghosts, Different tools, same human boast. I set my lens where theirs once aimed, We all want history to know our names. The spark remains when monuments fall, The ruin remembers — it whispers us all. Outro Nothing lasts, but everything speaks, The ruin remembers what the builder seeks. The wind repeats us, soft and brave, We build again from what time gave.

Inspiration & Story

“Nothing lasts, but everything speaks.” This original spoken-word piece, Nothing Lasts, was inspired by the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily — where ancient Greek ruins still rise from the hillside, whispering across millennia. The song explores the universality of human ambition — our drive to build, to endure, and to leave a mark that outlasts time. From the Temple of Concordia to the fractured stones of Zeus, Hera, and Heracles, these monuments remind us that even our grandest creations decay. Yet what remains — a column, a footprint, an echo — becomes the spark for those who come after. Echo Builders pairs spoken-word poetry with a cinematic, melodic soundtrack that blends ambient textures and Mediterranean tones. It’s a reflection on resilience, impermanence, and the quiet dialogue between past and present. 🎧 Listen, watch, and walk through history with me.
